When my little daughter was about two years old, we...

When my little daughter was about two years old, we went to visit a lady in a city near our home. The next morning after our arrival. I took the little one up to dress her, when to my amazement she seemed entirely helpless and would have fallen had I not caught her. Thinking I must be mistaken, I tried to have her stand again, but with the same result. I then realized there was something seriously wrong with her. I had only a slight understanding of Christian Science at that time, and the lady whom I was visiting had still less, but I had witnessed some wonderful healing in Science and thought I would try to treat her myself.

The child, however, continued to grow worse, and realizing that I had not enough understanding to do the work, I asked for help from a practitioner. She treated the child for a few days, but as I intended to return home. I thought it best to secure treatment from a practitioner in the city where I lived, as I could more easily communicate with her. I returned to my home on the 26th of October, and immediately asked for help. The following day we could see a change for the better in the little one. She continued to improve, and one eye, which had been seriously affected, gradually became normal; she began to talk more distinctly, and in about two weeks after I asked for treatment she began to stand on her feet a little. By Thanksgiving day she was running across the floor, almost as well as usual. She continued to improve rapidly, and soon was entirely well. This was four years ago, and she has remained well ever since, with the exception of a few ailments supposed to be peculiar to children, which have all been met through Christian Science.

I feel very grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us how to find out more about God.
