The relation of pain and disease to the whole human family is similar to that of sin. To one, a given temptation to sin presents an awful reality, and to him the possible unreality of that temptation is out of the question: but another through self-denial and a larger love has learned that the would-be power of the temptation is based on needless fear or on false promises of vindictive or sensuous pleasure, and to him the tempter is left without any power or reality of being.

Did the sick but know that there is to be obtained here and now a knowledge of God, good, which is a liberator from the bonds of disease, half of all human misery would disappear at once, for fully that proportion is based upon the false belief that God visits sickness upon mortals, or that it must run a course and possibly be found incurable. With the help of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, they can find the truth in the Bible, and the truth will make them free.
