Two years ago this summer I was suffering from acute mental trouble, depression caused by grief for the passing away of my husband and mother, also loss of money, and numerous failures in the attempt to earn a living for myself and little daughter. I was declared incurable by one specialist on mental diseases. I was treated in Christian Science for several weeks (while at a sanitarium), and am now happier, and enjoy better health than ever before in all my mortal existence. I am sending this testimony to the power of Truth to make us free, hoping thereby that some weary wanderer, "athirst in the desert" (Science and Health, p. 570), as I was, may find some ray of comfort. My feelings at this time are best expressed in Mrs. Eddy's own words,—

O make me glad for every scalding tear,

For hope deferred, ingratitude, disdain!

.....

No ill,—since God is good, and loss is gain.
