Three years ago I was healed in Christian Science, and it is with gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, that I offer my testimony to its healing power. After suffering nearly all my life with stomach and bowel trouble, and having gone through two operations for female trouble, the last one leaving me in a very nervous condition, I was asked by a dear friend, a Christian Scientist, to throw away my medicines and come to Christian Science and be healed. I shall never forget the feeling that came over me as those words were spoken—it was to me as the voice of Truth, in the words of Isaiah, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters." A copy of Science and Health was loaned me and I began to take treatment.
In having help for a condition which had long been annoying me, the error was uncovered as impatience and hate. I was led to ask myself, Am I reflecting toward this one (who was not a Scientist) the love, the patience, forbearance, and kindness which had been shown me through all the past years of my suffering? No. I then worked and rose above this sin, and each experience has given me a deeper sense of love, for which I am truly thankful, for only as we reflect divine Love can we be free. The spiritual uplifting which I have gained, together with the constant study of the Bible and Science and Health, has also enabled me to help others.
For all these blessings I am striving to learn and to live love, thus showing my gratitude to God, and to all who have helped me to find the healing truth.
