Gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has...

Gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought to me impels me to offer a few words of testimony. About four years ago, at a time of bereavement, I turned from orthodox theology and materia medica to Christian Science, and it was indeed a happy change for me. It meant my turning away from the husks and nothingness of superstition to that inspiring book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which unlocks the Bible and reveals to us the kingdom of heaven at hand. The fourth evening after I began to read the "little book" I was instantaneously healed of the tobacco habit, which had held me in its grasp for thirteen years. As I continued to read, stomach trouble of seventeen years' standing disappeared, and with several treatments a skin disease of three years' duration was healed. Bowel trouble from which I had suffered for many years also vanished, but the physical benefits are small as compared with the spiritual enlightenment—the peace that comes to us when we learn in Christian Science that God, good, is the only power,—the only reality.

I wish I could command the words to express fittingly my appreciation for the Christian Science literature,—the Sentinel, Journal, and Quarterly. Many articles from our contributors apply to my God, and help me very much. I am thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her labor of love and matchless leadership.
