Christian Science gives us a sure, scientific method and rule of healing sin and sickness, based upon divine Principle. It teaches entire and sole reliance upon God, infinite, divine, all-powerful, ever-operative Mind—ever-active spiritual Love—in every time of trouble. Its teaching that the human will or so-called mortal mind is responsible for all evil and erroneous conditions,—sin, disease, and death,—is in accord with the teachings of Jesus, who said that evil thoughts defile the man.

Christian Science teaches that there is only one Spirit, all-inclusive Mind, or God, and therefore it denies all belief in many spirits, as taught in spiritualism. It teaches that man can never be organically spiritual, but as he gains a better and higher understanding of God and gets rid of sin and false concepts he will gradually be freed from material limitations and finally reach the perfect image and likeness of God, Mind, Love, Spirit, good. Christian Science denies that there is any "occult power," for it assigns all power to God and teaches that man is subject alone to God, good, and possesses only that power bestowed by God, only the power to do good, and that this recognition of God's power takes away all power or desire to do evil or to influence or control any one by the use of the human mind.
