In gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for...
In gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me I wish to add my tribute to the anthem of praise going out "to the great heart of Love" (Science and Health, p. 448). I have been healed of several serious as well as many minor physical ailments, which the study and practice of truth revealed as the results of ugly temper, revenge, self-interest, etc. While there are still many weeds of error to be rooted out I have confidence to "press toward the mark," resting in the assurance that with God all things are possible.
The Bible bids us sing praises with understanding. Mrs. Eddy has given to the world a religion which makes this understanding obtainable. This was realized in a case of ulcerated jaw-bone and lockjaw. I had been suffering for several days, and one night I walked the floor all night. At five o'clock in the morning I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner; treatment was at once given, and in ten or fifteen minutes all pain was gone. There was no return of the pain, but the jaw remained set for a day or so longer. Even this healing does not compare with some other demonstrations which I have had, one of which I will mention,—the removal of an abnormal growth of twelve years' standing or longer. I treated myself for six months without a sign. At this stage I learned that some progress had been made, and in three more months the ailment was entirely overcome. The lessons learned during this experience are of incalculable value to me.
I thank God for the blessing of class instruction, and for all the provisions for our benefit which our dear Leader has made, in the several periodicals issued by the Publishing Society, etc. I thank God that there was one spiritual enough to become His messenger to a needy world, and my prayer is that I may live so as to be worthy to be called her follower.—Mrs. E. Carolyn Jackson, Seattle, Wash.
