As I read the testimony of others I feel a great desire to tell of my own healing. I thank God for revealing this Christ Science to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. This truth has helped me to overcome a quick temper, a jealous disposition, and many other errors of the senses. Since I can remember I had always been sickly. One of the most dreaded ailments was biliousness, with terrible pains in the stomach. In attacks of this kind the suffering was most severe. I was married at seventeen, and soon after the attacks came oftener and were more violent. One night I awoke very sick, and my husband did all he could for me. He finally called in a neighbor who is a Christian Science practitioner, but as we had little use for Science, not knowing what it was, they worked for me materially for a while, until it seemed that I would die. Finally I asked for Christian Science treatment, and in a half hour all were asleep. In the morning I felt fine, whereas, without Science, I would have been very sore. I took further treatment, and although I was not entirely healed right away, the pains were lessened and the attacks farther apart, until they finally disappeared.

It is now over two and a half years since I have had any sign of the illness, and for this my husband and I are most thankful. I have had many good demonstrations for myself and baby, who was born under Science treatment. To us she is certainly one of those "representatives of Life, Truth, and Love" of which we read in Science and Health (p. 582). Her goodness and sweetness are acknowledged by all who know her. We had two epidemics of contagious disease in our neighborhood. The neighbors thought our baby could not escape, but we can thank God she did escape these attacks and many other prophecies of mortal mind. I am striving to be a better woman, a better wife and mother; to love my neighbor as myself; to have the Mind that was in Christ Jesus.
