For several years I suffered greatly from pain in the hands and knee-joints, but especially in the feet, and at times it was so bad that I could not walk at all. I asked medical advice and applied all the remedies I was advised to try, but without success. In the later part of September, 1908, my sister gave me a copy of Der Herold der Christian Science, which I read with great interest. I immediately wrote to Dresden, asking for help, and when a Christian Science practitioner wrote that she would treat me, but that I must do my share, I replied that I was willing to do so. Through my own prayers I had not before gained anything satisfactory; my prayers had always brought me some relief, but never permanent help. Now, however, I was confident that I would become quite well through the Christ-healing as taught in Christian Science. Two weeks later I found myself much better physically and mentally, and felt that this good health would be lasting. I have now enjoyed good health for a long time; I can walk all day without inconvenience and have no pain at all. I also have enjoyed foot-tours of several hours' duration.

I would also like to return thanks for the help my six-year-old boy received through Christian Science. He suffered from an ear trouble which caused him great pain, so that he would sometimes cry all the night through. Two years ago he had an attack which lasted very long, and the physician could afford no help at that time. When in December the boy again began to complain of his ears, and the pain became as severe as it had been two years previous. I asked the lady in Dresden with whose help I had regained my health, to give treatment to my child; and after a short time he was healed of the pain and of an excitable and angry disposition as well. After two weeks' treatment the boy was quite well, also good and happy. At the same time I learned how to bring up a child according to the truth, that is, in overcoming all evil with good.

My heart is filled with gratitude and love to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, the revered Founder of Christian Science, which has brought me so many blessings.
