During the winter of 1907-8 I was attending Yankton...

During the winter of 1907-8 I was attending Yankton college, and one day I slipped in going down some steps, and fell to the bottom with my foot bent back under me. The pain was very severe, but I went about my work as usual. In the afternoon I went down town, and when I came back my ankle was paining me so I could scarcely walk. During the evening the pain grew worse, and after supper I felt that I needed help, so called up a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. Before I went to sleep the pain was much relieved, and when I awoke in the morning there was no pain, my ankle was its normal size, and there was only a very slight stiffness in the muscles of the leg to remind me that I had had any trouble whatever.

That fall, a short time after I returned to school, a boil began to appear on my left arm. I tried to see the practitioner, but found that she was out of town; so I could not get treatment until the boil had become quite large and was somewhat painful. As soon as the practitioner returned home I had treatment, and immediately pain ceased. During the time when a boil is supposed to be most painful, I suffered the least, as there was no pain, and it opened of itself, without the use of any material means. I am certainly grateful for the help received, and the fact that I did not need to have the services of a surgeon, as so many advised me to do.
