AMONG THE CHURCHES

The Christian Science society of Columbia University, New York, has begun its regular meetings for the academic year. These meetings, which are held the first and third Friday nights in each month, are open to all the students.—Correspondence.

The magnificent new Christian Science church on South Oakland avenue was thrown open for inspection yesterday afternoon [Sept. 22] from five to six o'clock, and many availed themselves of the invitation to inspect it. The main part of the structure is advanced so that one may gain an idea of its proportions, but about four months will be required in which to complete it. The great dome is rising fast and will soon dominate all that portion of the city. The building is of beautiful design, in pure Greek Ionic architecture, and will be one of the most imposing edifices in the city when completed.—Pasadena News.
