It is with pleasure that I give my testimony, for by so doing I may tell to the world what Christian Science has done for me ; and I hope my experience may be the means of bringing health to others. Two years ago last January, while crossing an icy pavement, I feel with great force. A gentleman who was passing came to my assistance, and lifted me to my feet; but when he found I could not stand, he called a passing automobile and took me to my home. A physician was summoned, and upon examination he pronounced the injury very serious. He said it would be many months before I could walk, laying stress upon the fact that at my age, sixty-one years, the bones knit slowly. He set the bone and bandaged the limb. When I told him that I desired Christian Science treatment, he said, "All right; you may get along without medicine, but I warn you that fever and pain will set in later." My daughter then called a practitioner, who came at once and commenced treatment. At the end of ten days I was lifted into an armchair and sat up for two hours, and in three weeks I began to walk around my room. In one month from the time of the accident I was as well as ever and could go up and down stairs without assistance. At no time did I have fever or pain, and the doctor, who called daily to watch my case, said he could not understand it, unless my invincible determination to get well caused my remarkable recovery. But I knew from whence came my help!
We have had many demonstrations since that time; headaches, from which I had suffered all my life, have disappeared, also stomach trouble. Grateful as I truly am for the physical comforts and help I have received, I am still more so for the better understanding of God and the Scriptures which has come to us through Christian Science. I want to express my gratitude to God for giving us a channel through which this truth of Christ's teaching is obtained, and to Mrs. Eddy for what she has done for us and is doing for all the world.
Mrs. M. J. Haynes, Denver, Col.
