I wish to acknowledge with gratitude the good which...
I wish to acknowledge with gratitude the good which Christian Science has brought me. It is almost twenty years since I first read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and found that it indeed opened up the Scriptures, which before this had seemed to me contradictory and meaningless. Though I loved to read the New Testament, and believed Jesus the Christ to be our best guide, I could not understand all his sayings. Now the whole Bible has a fuller meaning, and together with Science and Health it is my daily study. My best hope is that in the near future the whole world may know the blessing which Christian Science is to this age, and thank Mrs. Eddy for her great effort to help all mankind. Before I learned of this healing truth, physicians had kindly done all they could for me, but at last had given their opinion that I could live but a few months longer, even with careful treatment and in a mild climate. (I was then living in Nebraska, where the climate is subject to sudden changes, with strong winds.)
Supposedly hereditary lung trouble, together with kidney and stomach trouble, etc., were overcome by reading Science and Health. I became strong, and was in good health, but I soon found that I must work in God's vineyard if I would remain happy; I must help others to find Christ, Truth. Though at times my work has seemed to be very slow and unsatisfactory, yet the harder I worked for Truth, the more peace, happiness, and health were mine. I am now better able to overcome error, and I am thankful to God, and to our Leader for Christian Science.
Mrs. R. A. D. Morrison, Medford, Ore.
