I know we can all help others by telling of our own...
I know we can all help others by telling of our own healing, and since I became interested in Christian Science, nearly five years ago, the Sentinel and Journal have given me constant encouragement. At that time I had been reading of Christian Science, and as I had always been fond of study and inquiry, it came to me that I had waited too long to know something definite of a religion which taught the healing of sickness and sin through an intimate knowledge of God. Ever since I was a little child I had thought how wonderful and beautiful it would be to pray to God and have one's prayers answered, but to my sense God was very far away until I learned to love the Bible as explained by the comforting teachings of Christian Science. I then found that Jesus' words are practical; although in striving to follow them I have had a hard fight with my own disposition, in endeavoring to overcome hate, impatience, selfishness, and extreme sensitiveness. I was healed of an annoying throat trouble and of severe headache very quickly, and I have laid aside glasses. I have not had to spend one day in bed since I began to study Christian Science, while formerly I was often sick and always tired.
I wish I might help many others to know what a support the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon is, also the Sunday and Wednesday services. I feel that the mental healing and spiritual quickening have been even more than the constant physical help I have received. It has been my privilege to give help to my family and to some others. In my home we have been greatly helped in financial problems, and we grow more certain that perfect healing of all troubles will follow the understanding of God and obedience to His law.
I would like to mention one thing which has always impressed me, and that is the mathematical precision with which we may work out our problems when relying upon God as divine Principle. I have several times read of healing which had only come after continued work, and in my own case I have not yet realized freedom from some ills; but this proves to me conclusively that all the healing which has come to me has brought a clearer understanding of God, and that as we cast out evil we perceive the greater light which makes us "whole" entirely.
