For many years I suffered from heart trouble, and never dared to go out without taking my little bottle of heart medicine along. The attacks grew more frequent, and harder to overcome, my physician saying each time, "You cannot live through many more," or, "You will pass out in one of these attacks." Besides this, I was subject to severe headache, suffering intense pain, usually for twenty-four hours; besides many other troubles. I was often urged to take Christian Science treatment, but refused, thinking that Christian Science could not help me if materia medica could not.

Early in 1897 I took up the study of Christian Science, for one of my family, and read constantly for a few days. When the light of Truth dawned upon me, I saw that it was for me, for everybody, and that God is Love and Truth; that if I would only believe in Him and His works I would be healed of all my troubles. I determined then and there to trust in God. I threw away all my medicine, and from that time to this I have been a free woman. My healing was immediate and perfect. Where at that time I could not walk at all, I now can and do walk miles without fatigue. When I consider that this light came to me through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I feel the deepest gratitude and love to our dear Leader, whose spirituality enabled her to voice again the teaching and practice of our beloved Master in such a practical form that every one willing to think right, act right, and live right, can apply with "signs following" this blessed truth.

In the years that have passed since I first was made whole, Christian Science has enabled me to meet every need. And I have been led in the right path when sometimes I have at first doubted the wisdom of the step. I am truly thankful to God, who has sent His clear message to this age.—Laura J.
