For many years I was a sufferer, the pain at times being so intense as to be almost unbearable. Afraid of opiates, my only relief was from stimulants administered in generous quantities. This relief was but temporary, and my condition grew steadily worse. With no knowledge of Christian Science, but with a hope that I might be healed, I commenced treatment. Ovarian trouble was overcome in the first treatment, but my complete physical healing did not come for over six years. During that time I was a constant student of Science and Health, and occasionally received help from a practitioner. Many times it seemed as if doubt and discouragement would turn me aside, but there was nothing else to which I could turn. Climate and materia medica had been tried and had given me nothing, while in Science I had found a steady, though slight improvement. I had for three years been actively engaged in the practice of Christian Science when a lady called and asked for treatment. Her case was a repetition of my own. Treatment was given her for two weeks, and at the expiration of that time we were both healed.
I owe all my happiness to the truth taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." When I look back to the time when I knew nothing of Christian Science, and contrast my condition then with what it is now, my heart goes out in gratitude to our Leader, who has given us an understanding of God whereby we are enabled to help ourselves and others.
Mrs. Estelle Hawley Eddy, Denver, Col.
