It is a privilege to express my gratitude through the Christian Science periodicals for the benefits that I have received from Christian Science during the past two years and a half. After reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for three weeks. I was healed of bowel trouble, from which I had suffered since I was a child. I also gained in flesh, in strength, and in happiness. After reading Science and Health for three months. I had faith enough to believe I could become a perfectly healthy woman if I was willing to do my part of the work. I went to a practitioner for help, saying I had come to prepare for winter, as I had suffered with bronchial and asthmatic troubles for twenty years. I had been obliged to sit up nights for three and four months at a time during the winter, and suffered greately. After having been treated by a specialist I seemed worse, and became completely discouraged, believing that no material remedy could help me. The doctors told me that I ought to spend my winters in the South.

This past winter, since accepting Christian Science, I have been free from any cough or throat trouble. I have slept peacefully at night and been out in all kinds of weather. I have also been healed of neuralgic and rheumatic trouble in different parts of the body, which caused intense suffering at times. A severe stomach trouble has likewise yielded to Christian Science treatment. The physical help has been great, and I am most grateful to God, and also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for it is through her self-sacrificing life that we are enabled to know the truth which does indeed make us free from the bondage of sin and suffering. Sometimes I feel more the spiritual uplift and the peace that has come into my life through the little understanding that I have of this truth, and I trust that this testimony to what Christian Science has done for me may help some one to cling to the truth, even though sometimes discouraged if the healing seems slow in the outward manifestation. — Mrs. E.
