I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. In October, 1907, I had a severe attack of illness, and had to leave school. Finally the doctor told me that I must have an operation, but not being a surgeon he did not want to perform it himself. I went to one of the best in the city, who told me that I should wait no longer, but have it done at once, as any delay might be very serious. He engaged a room at a hospital (this was on Saturday), and I was to go there on Sunday and on Monday be operated upon. On Sunday, however, I backed down, and sent word that I would not be at the hospital, and the next day my mother found a Christian Science practitioner, who began to give me treatment. In two weeks I was completely healed, although in all I had about five weeks' treatment for the abdominal trouble, and another which was never named.

While I am very grateful for my physical healing, words cannot express my gratitude for the spiritual uplifting which I have received and for my better understanding of God and the Bible. It is my earnest desire to know more of this truth, which is indeed "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

My son's testimony is true in every respect, and we give thanks to God for his healing. We are also grateful to our dear Leader, whom God has inspired to make plain to human understanding the life and teaching of Christ Jesus.— Mrs. C. H. Hodges, Kansas City, Kan.
