Before coming into Christian Science I never knew what it was to be well. Medicines did me no good; I was unable to eat any solid food, in fact the lightest food would sometimes cause suffering. When "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was loaned to me, I could not at first understand it and did not know that the reading of it could do any good, for the lady who loaned it to me was not a believer in Christian Science, and knew nothing about it, except that a sister of hers in another city had been healed by it, and had sent the book to her to read. At the time I began to read it, I was unable to do any work, and felt that I needed something more than a book to help me; but in a short time a little understanding began to come to me, and before I knew what had happened all my ailments had disappeared. I was happy, and singing all the time. I felt like a girl of sixteen, and hardly knew what it was to be tired, whereas before that I was always tired. This was the first time in twenty years that I could eat anything and everything without being afraid that it would hurt me, and I have been well ever since that time, which was about nine years ago.

My oldest girl suffered greatly from the effects of vaccination, so that her condition seemed serious; but she was entirely healed by Christian Science treatment. Both of my little girls were healed in a very short time of attacks of eruptive fevers by Christian Science treatment. I could tell of many blessings, and much healing done in my home through this wonderful truth. Though at times I was not able to pay anything for her services, the kind practitioner would always come to me when help was needed, although it was quite a distance.

Every day I feel so thankful to God for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. I owe endless gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for that inspired book, Science and Health, for through its teachings I was not only physically healed, but the Bible, which I had always loved but had never understood, has been opened up to me. God bless Mrs. Eddy for this healing truth and for all the good it has done to humanity.
