As an evidence of the deep sense of gratitude I feel for the many benefits received from Christian Science, I desire to tell something of the healing which I experienced. I had scarcely known a well day in my life, catarrhal and stomach trouble being constant annoyances. When twelve years old it was found that I had a spinal disease, for which I wore steel braces two years; and while the trouble was partially corrected, a very weak back remained. Several years later I was seriously ill with inflammatory and nervous trouble, and this so aggravated the condition of the spine that for over three years I was confined to my bed. I had many different doctors, — allopathic, homeopathic, and osteopathic ; electrical treatment, four months in a sanitarium; I spent one winter in the South seeking benefit from the climate, and was operated on; but only very slight improvement resulted from any of these material means. Doctors pronounced my trouble a serious affection of the bowels, and the spinal condition was such that it seemed I would never walk again.

I had heard something of Christian Science, but would neither investigate it nor accept it until every other means had failed. Then I asked for treatment, and through faithful and persistent effort on the part of my practitioner the healing came. The spine became straight and strong, and I could walk as far and as much as any one. The freedom from untoward physical conditions, the mental joy and peace I have since experienced, are so great that I cannot express my gratitude for what this truth has done for me. I have found a God who is Life, Truth, and Love, and I have leaned to enjoy the study of the Bible, which appears to me in a new light through Mrs. Eddy's interpretation of the Scriptures. My sincere desire is to live the teachings of this as given to us in the Bible and Science and Health.
