While reading some testimonies in the Sentinel the thought came that I ought to acknowledge what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Six years ago this truth came as "a lamp unto my feet" in the healing of my little girls. I bought a copy of "Science and Health with to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and began to search for the truth that makes us free. In a very short time afterward I was cured of chronic throat trouble, for which I had been treated medically to no avail. Our little girl, aged five, was kicked on the head by a mule and seemed to be very seriously injured, but none of the bad effects that usually attend such cases remained with her. I have seen many complaints overcome through the understanding that God is All-in-all. We have a little boy, who was born after Christian Science came to us, and he is a cheer to us all. It is a joy to know that God is an ever-present help. I never want to go again over the dark road of bygone days,—the days before the message of Truth and Love came to me through the understanding of the Bible as illumined by Science and Health. I had laid my Bible aside, as I got no consolation out of it—I could not understand it, although I was raised in an orthodox church. I feel truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the wonderful gift of her untiring devotion to all mankind.
