Feeling so very grateful for what I know of Christian Science...
Feeling so very grateful for what I know of Christian Science and its benefits, it gives me great pleasure to write of some of my experiences as a mother, hoping thereby to help other mothers who may be situated as I have been. When our two children were quite young, we lives in a town where there were no Christian Science practitioners, and feeling that we were young in Science, and not sufficiently advanced to help ourselves, we thought it best to telegraph to a distant city for the help needed. Upon several occasions we had, to mortal sense, very alarming conditions to meet, but they were all promptly overcome in Science through absent treatment. When our little boy was only a few days old, he seemed to be very ill. We immediately telegraphed for Christian Science treatment, and even before we had received a reply, we noticed a very great change for the better, and by the next day the child had entirely recovered. When our little girl was about six months old she contracted a severe cold and had a high fever. When she seemed to be growing rapidly worse we telegraphed for help, which was about one o'clock in the afternoon. For a while there seemed to be no change in her condition, but in the evening she began sleeping peacefully, and next morning was much better. The third day she was restored to her normal condition. I would like to tell how quickly a case of croup was overcome a short time ago. Upon retiring one night, our little girl was coughing constantly and had very alarming symptoms. At midnight we had to telephone to a practitioner for help, and fifteen minutes later everything was quiet, and all asleep. The child did not arouse any more until five o'clock, when she had a little coughing spell, but soon went to sleep again; and she has had no return of the ailment since.
I realize more and each day that there is but one source of supply—which is all sufficient for our every need—and that this source is God, good, omnipotent and omnipresent Mind. I am indeed grateful for the new light that has come to me through the works of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Mrs. E. P. Woodford, Baltimore, Md.
