I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and my husband, for it has helped us in a great many ways. When I was brought to Christian Science I was a great sufferer from stomach, nervous, and kidney trouble. I could not eat anything without distress. At the time we called in a Christian Science practitioner I was living on dried bread, and I could not sleep at night; but, thanks be to God, I can truthfully say that I have not missed a meal at the table or a night's sleep since I was treated in Christian Science. My healing was instantaneous! It is a great comfort to know the truth, and to know that God never commands us to do impossible things, as we once thought; and that Christ Jesus, the Wayshower, did not do his mighty works merely to prove that he could do them, but to show us that we, too, could do them.
Christian Science reveals man's divinely natural ability to do the works which Jesus did and to follow in his footsteps. It found me too miserable for words to express. I had become dissatisfied with everything,—the world, and the people in it. I felt that God had forsaken me, and I wished that I might die and leave it all ; but, thank God, the light dawned on me, and brought me to know that God is Love and nothing less, and that everything He made is good. It is a little over a year since I took up Christian Science, and I can truthfully say it has been the happiest year of my life; such sweet comfort and contentment. What wonder, then, that Christian Scientists love their religion and the dear woman who was able to give it to the world.
Mrs. George Mortimer, Austin, Minn.
