It is now almost twelve years since I first became interested in Christian Science. In the summer of 1896 I was entirely healed of a chronic ailment, then of twenty years' standing and for which I had been unsuccessfully treated almost continuously during all that time, not only by physicians of this city, but for about three years by a specialist of excellent reputation in a neighboring city. Although, at times, my condition seemed to be improved, such relief in all cases proved to be but temporary and was soon followed by a return to the earlier difficulty, often in a more aggravated form; and no hope whatever was held out to me by the physicians of their ever being able to effect a permanent cure. When I had become wholly discouraged, and had concluded that my future life was to be at best only a continual term of suffering and discomfort, I was induced to try Christian Science, about which I then knew nothing whatever, and I was very skeptical in regard to its beneficial effects. The results have been gratifying to me in the highest degree, for I am now in the full enjoyment of excellent health. At first my heaing was slow, but it has been effectual and complete.
Since being healed as above related, I have occasionally had slight ailments, all of which have yielded promptly and surely to Christian Science treatment; and for all my healing I am truly grateful, and for the truth as interpreted by Mrs. Eddy in her writings and teachings.
Alice C. Denton, Atchison, Kan.
