In the year 1904, and the first half of 1905, I often read in the papers that a dreaded disease was claiming many victims in Germany, and I was myself attacked by it after returning from a three-days visit in Berlin. Sin and fear were the cause of this attack. Since I was unable to write, I asked a friend to write for me to a practitioner in Berlin and ask for treatment. The practitioner took the case, and I was healed in two days. This healing I owe to Christian Science, as well as much good which I received, physically, morally, and spiritually. I dare not think what would have become of me without Christian Science; through it the Bible has become to me the most valuable book. I was one of those who in darkness and doubt were seeking for that practical application of the teachings of the Bible which through the spiritual understanding of Mrs. Eddy has been revealed to the world. I am coming to know more and more that God is ever-present and almighty.

I wish to express my gratitude to our Leader by daily striving to lead a life that will please God.
