Having received so much help from Christian Science, it is with great pleasure that I give my testimony. I had been a slave to the tobacco habit for thirteen years, and before coming to Christian Science had made many earnest attempts to quit through drugs and will-power, both of which failed entirely. I was then healed of this habit with one week's absent treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. It has been three years since my healing, and I have not used tobacco or wanted any from that day to this. Prior to this, when using drugs to cure me of this habit, I would be almost wild, and made it very unpleasant for those around me; so that when I began the treatment in Christian Science my wife said she dreaded it, but she said afterwards that she had never seen me so happy as I was when the demonstration was being made. I have been studying Christian Science ever since and have found the truth to be a very present help in all times of trouble. It helps me with my daily work. While I was working in a large galvanized tank some hot solder blew up, and some of it went into one of my eyes. I realized the truth almost instantly, and did not suffer any pain. I worked on a while, but as I could feel something in my eye I asked a man to look at it. He did so, and removed a piece of the solder. The eye never troubled me afterwards, and I have two good eyes to-day. I have had many other beautiful demonstrations of Truth's power, the greatest of all being the spiritual understanding of God. Through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I have come to love the Bible and to love my neighbor. My earnest desire is to learn more of this truth and to live worthy to be called a Christian Scientist. I shall always remember with gratitude the man who first encouraged me to try Christian Science for my wife. She was at that time being treated by some very kind doctors, indeed she had been for about four years, but was getting no better at all. After being treated by a Christian Science practitioner, and by her own reading of Science and Health, she has been brought out of chronic invalidism.
