A feeling of deep gratitude urges me to say what Christian Science has given and taught me. Never having been strong, I underwent for nearly fourteen years a course of treatment which seemed to do me good; but when I came to know Christian Science, how clear it was to me that the material treatment is limited at best, while the power of divine Love is unlimited. During five years I suffered from severe heart trouble. I was forbidden to walk upstairs, so that at our house and my mother's a lift was made. After I had treatment in Christian Science, these were no longer required. I had no longer any palpitation or pain, and instead of lying down all day I took walks in all kinds of weather.
After thanking God for my healing, I must say a word of inexpressible gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, to whom I owe so much. I regard existence so differently, and find it so gloriously rich in all things, that it has become a joy for me to live by having learned that God is my Life. I have become so much calmer, and go on in perfect security, with the firm conviction that God's endless love will continue to help me in all things.
Mrs. Van Overveldt van der Meersch, Scheveningen, Holland.
