Appreciation

Philadelphia, Pa., July 6, 1905.
To Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy,
  Pleasant View, Concord, N.H.

Beloved Leader:—We are assembled in our regular quarterly business meeting and we desire to end to you a message of love.

We appreciate more than we have ever done your work of love for the world, to which you have consecrated your life for so many years. Under your wise counsel and guidance our Cause has achieved much for man's liberation from the slavery of the senses. We know, if we follow the example which you have given us in your devotion to the Master's commands, we shall continually achieve more. We appreciate, also, how earnestly you have striven to have us destroy in our individual consciousness the suggestions of evil; to have us worship but one God, the eternal good; to put aside the things which hinder our spiritual growth, and be united in brotherly love, in our work for the Church and for each other.  We know that if we are obedient to your teaching we will never disobey the Golden Rule; we will ever be unjust, unloving, selfish, or false to the highest call to a noble manhood or womanhood.
