I desire to make a public acknowledgment of the benefits...
I desire to make a public acknowledgment of the benefits I have received through Christian Science. I was so great a sufferer, for four years, through severe hemorrhage of the stomach and the general breakdown which followed, that I looked upon death as the only avenue of escape from the unspeakable miseries I endured. I had numerous doctors in Europe, as well as here, but they could only afford me temporary relief. About the time that I had reached the limit of suffering, a friend persuaded me to try Christian Science, and being about ready to grasp at any hope of relief held out to me, I put myself under treatment, though without much hope. I was healed in a day, and since that time I have been practically well. Surely this is much to be thankful for, but the great change it has made in my thought of God, and the illumination it has thrown upon the Bible, calls for a gratitude greater than words can express, —gratitude to God, and to the grand, brave woman who has so fearlessly proclaimed the truth in the face of so much criticism.
