Christian Science emphatically and consistently maintains that because sin has no divine origin it should be accorded no rightful place nor irresistible power in the world: that it is an unlawful enormity which should cease to victimize mankind because it is not of God, the one and only creator. The Christian Scientist has learned that in proportion as he confidently contests the sovereignty of sin and evil, even to the extent of a refusal to give it place or contemplation in thought, he gains mastery over it and its effects, and to this extent does he prove its powerlessness and unreality, at least to some degree, in his own experience. He who indulges sin is loudly proclaiming its reality, and will therefore suffer its consequences, no matter to what extent he may profess otherwise.
