Critics should take into consideration the fact that Christian Scientists, in the majority of cases, speak from the standpoint of experience with both materia medica and Christian Science, and having found this Science more efficacious in the treatment of physical ills than the methods previously employed, naturally prefer it. The Bible says, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." As Paul, like Jesus, proved his faith by overcoming sin, binding up the broken-hearted, and healing disease by spiritual means alone, we are safe in assuming that an attempt to prove one's faith by the use of material remedies would not be an exhibition of "works" authorized in precept or example by either Paul or the Master.
