Der Herold der Christian Science is a great help and joy...
Der Herold der Christian Science is a great help and joy to me in my study of the German language, a study which I commenced since its publication. I therefore desire to express my gratitude for the blessings which Christian Science has brought to me. For several years I suffered with a weeping sinew on my right wrist, which caused me much trouble in my work as a stenographer. At times it seemed better and then again worse, and on different occasions I went to Christian Science practitioners for treatment, but noticed no improvement. A year ago last summer I went with two friends to the mountains to spend my vacation, and the day after our arrival I fell downstairs and sprained both ankles. I worked in Christian Science from four until eight o'clock as earnestly as I knew how. but could not realize my dominion as a child of God. I tried to know that there are no accidents in Truth,—yet to all appearance I received no benefit; both feet were swollen and I was unable to stand without great pain. I felt that I must not go to bed before I realized some improvement and I did not wish to mar my friends' pleasure nor my own. I took up a copy of the Sentinel, hoping to find something that would help me. I turned to a short article and read just the words that met my need, and I went peacefully to bed with the assurance that our "labor is not in vain in the Lord." The next morning there was no swelling and I was able to walk down-stairs for breakfast. The third day all ill effects had disappeared, except the discoloration. and I took a walk of several miles over rough roads and fields. After I fell the swelling on my wrist disappeared immediately, and for the last fourteen months there has been no trace of it.
How important is this revelation of divine Truth to the world; through the understanding gained in Christian Science we may experience the joy of overcoming all evil.
Eva J. Cox, Boston, Mass.
