Nearly all my life I had suffered from some physical ailment, and for the past eight years I had suffered untold agony from muscular rheumatism, there being at one time several weeks that I could not walk. Then again I could not use my arms for days at a time. I was in this condition when I had occasion to call on a Christian Science practitioner, and as I left, she said, "I wish that I could help you." Those words rang in my ears for several days, and I thought nothing of the pain I was suffering, but of the spiritual help I needed. I knew nothing of Christian Science, only that a friend had told me she had been benefited by reading Science and Health. I borrowed a copy of the practitioner, who told me to read it carefully and prayerfully, but I took it simply to see if its teachings were right or wrong. As soon as I began reading, I knew it was right. Such a wonderful inspiration came to me and remained with me while I was reading it, and I feel that the Father knew what things I had need of before I asked Him.

During the past two years I have not had one moment's pain from rheumatism or any other ailment that I had formerly been subject to. Words cannot express the deep gratitude I feel for the spiritual uplifting which has upheld me ever since, and for all these blessings I realize that I owe endless gratitude and love to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who, being led by divine Love, has given to the world this healing truth. — Elizabeth Moody, Jonesville, Mich.
