If it is reasonable to blame Christian Science for its failures, by the same token it is right to criticise materia medica, which has, as the records show, a greater proportion of failures on its books. Conversely, if for any reason materia medica is considered exempt from attack for failing at all, then any curative system, honestly applied, which can show as good a record, must also be exempt, the fact or circumstance of the death of the patient remaining practically the same in all cases; that is to say, presenting no unusual or distinguishing features in one case which are not found in all others.
