It is nearly sixteen years since the first shower of blessings came through the reading of our text book, Science and health, by our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Health had failed, our financial affairs seemed at a standstill, in fact, life was not worth living, except for the experience which led out of these conditions. I then heard of a neighbor who had gone to a lady for treatment for a lost voice. I had formerly up my mind that if I ever had the opportunity to be healed by faith I would certainly avail myself of it. I did not know how the faith was to be attained, as I had prayed for it for years without practical results. When the' neighbor came home he had a book, and the lady said that many had been healed by reading it. I read this book, which was Science and Health, at every opportunity. The mental conflict was for some time very severe,—a mental upheaval, uprooting everything that was not based on the truth, destroying everything that was not based on the truth, destroying everything "that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God."

As I continued to read, I saw that we cause all our own discords—sin, sickness, disease, and even death —by believing in more than one power, more than one creator, and by accepting the testimony of the physical senses. I saw that we do not need to believe this testimony, and as the spiritual facts of being opened up to me, I was able to prove their truth by a pure mind and a healthy body. I was so thoroughly healed from that moment that it was a year and a half before I ever had any sense of weariness, and then I was helping many others out of their bondage to false sense. I had for fifteen years been a slave to a sense of sickness, both physical and mental, but when I found my birthright I was free. May God bless our Leader, and may this testimony help some other weary pilgrim to rise out of sense into Soul. —Mrs. Ida Nixon, Riley, Kan.
