I am very glad and very grateful for the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. All my life I had been under the shadow of physical troubles which were supposed to be hereditary. Various material remedies had been tried for me without success, and I was discouraged. I felt very rebellious, because I was often physically unable to carry out my plans, and when the frequently recurring attacks of illness interfered with my college course and thwarted my ambitions, I was bitterly disappointed and unhappy. About two years ago I became interested in Christian Science, through a dear friend, and some months later, while spending the winter in Berlin, Germany, I asked for treatment and began attending the services. Help was lovingly given, and I soon began to feel happier and stronger than I had been for years. Every treatment was indeed a blessing. The testimonies I heard in the meetings and those which I read in the Sentinel and Journal were also most teaching me not only of the benefits to be received through Christian Science, but also of the good which one may bring into other lives through an understanding of divine Principle.
I was entirely healed after having treatment for about two months, and this demonstration of divine Love brought me great happiness. I had, however, learned that Christian Science means infinitely more than mere physical welfare, for with my healing there came a spiritual awakening, a desire to understand this Science which teaches us to know God, and I studied the Christian Science text-book earnestly. I have thus learned that to live Christian Science requires unceasing diligence, but the work is joyous and refreshing, for we know whom we serve, and the daily demonstrations afford a sweet assurance that we are working in the right direction.
I thank God daily for Christian Science, and my thought is full of loving gratitude to Mrs. Eddy.
