The availability of Christian Science in emergencies, is...
The availability of Christian Science in emergencies, is to me, a most interesting phase of this beautiful religion, because it has enabled me again and again to carry my school work successfully forward in the face of suddenly presented difficulties.
One morning, after I had traveled all night and mostly through a mountainous region, I was suddenly attacked with car sickness. This seemed an unusually trying experience, because within two hours I was due at the high school in B—to deliver a lecture to the teachers of that city. It seemed trying because I had wanted so much to be a messenger of health and of good things, not a representative of disease, to the teachers whom I had been invited to help. While still an hour's ride from B—, and while the fear of not being able to meet my engagement repeatedly presented itself to me, the assurance of Divine aid came as forcibly as could any personal message, and infinitely more powerful, with these words, "Fear not: for I have redeemed thee!" It is scarcely necessary to add that I was immediately well. It is clear that in so far as we hear the voice of Truth, we receive the healing. The work with the teachers was accomplished without a thought of illness, and I have never experienced the slightest return of the difficulty; for which, as for many other blessings, I am grateful to Christian Science.
