The More Just Estimate

There are few asperities or prejudices of human nature which time does not soften. With the gentleness of light, truth makes its way into the consciousness of the well-meaning, and ere they are aware, they are impelled to its recognition.

This fact renders all thoughtful friends of Christian Science very patient with its critics. They know that if with God's gracious help they may but attain unto a wholesome and consistent manifestation of the truth for which they stand, in due time the antagonism thereto will pass and their faith will attain to its legitimate place and just rating.

The vicar of St. Mary's, London, England, has preached several sermons recently on "The Spiritual Healing Movement," in which he has unhesitatingly recognized that the doctrine distinctly belongs to Catholic Christianity. While not free from misapprehensions, his statements as a whole are characterized by that breadth and Christian kindliness which in due time will be shown by all Christian believers, but which hitherto has been so sadly lacking in much of the ministerial reference to our Cause.
