Listening
"We can experience the healing which comes
as a consequence of true listening"
One who sits in a garden and listens may hear many bird songs. And being able to identify the song of the bobwhite, the mockingbird, the cardinal, the thrush, and others enhances the enjoyment of one's listening. But if one is to hear the birds at all, he must quiet the thought that is busy planning and outlining, the ear that is attuned to voices in the vicinity, to a neighbor's radio, and so on.
