Through the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to realize the purity of man as revealed to us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and this brought about a beautiful healing of my eye.

Upon awakening quite early one morning to start a busy day, I found that one of my eyes would not stay open. It felt as though something very sharp were under the lid, and it was both painful and annoying. I thought that this would pass; so I went to my office. Upon my arrival there I found that the eye had not improved and that I must put into practice my understanding of Christian Science. Some improvement was forthcoming, but every time I tried to work, the eye became worse. It was then that I called for the help of a practitioner.

I had asked for someone to take over the work that I was supposed to do. Within the hour that it took for this person to reach the office and while I was explaining the work to him, I suddenly realized that my eye was open and staying open. My heart was filled with gratitude. I completed a busy day without any further difficulty, although the physical pain did not leave until the following morning. This healing proved to me the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 276), "Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God."
