I am so grateful for the many...
I am so grateful for the many healings I have received since coming into Christian Science that I want to share some of them. One day, while I was sitting on my front porch reading from Prose Works other than Science and Health by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, it became very dark, and there was evidence of an impending storm. As I watched, I noticed a streak of white running along the sky. Soon it stopped and began to return. Then I noticed a great cone-shaped object, which is a sign of a cyclone.
I recalled the incident in "We Knew Mary Baker Eddy," Second Series (p. 71), when our Leader noticed a dark cloud shaped like a cornucopia coming toward her house and requested each of her students to go to a window facing it and realize that there are "no destructive elements in God's creation." I held to this thought very firmly. Soon the sense of danger was overcome, and I felt that the work was done. I was grateful to see the clouds dispersed and the impending storm averted.
One day when I was working in a home as a practical nurse, I was asked to go a distance from the house and call the workmen to their dinner. On my way I twisted my foot and found it very painful to walk, but because those around me were not Scientists, I tried to avoid showing any evidence of pain. I was a fairly new student of Christian Science, and I had already learned to hold steadfastly to statements of truth in the face of discordant conditions.
