Before I knew anything of Christian Science...
Before I knew anything of Christian Science I had been troubled with a diseased condition on my fingers and thumbs. For ten years I had used many lotions and ointments and had been treated by three doctors; but, like the woman in the Bible, I "was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" (Mark 5:26).
Then my elder son accepted a post away from home. One day, having a headache, he asked his landlady if she could give him an aspirin. She told him that she was a Christian Scientist and did not have any, and then explained a little of what Christian Science is. My son, who was healed of his headache as a result of this explanation, was very much interested, and the following Wednesday he attended a testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Later, while reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, he was instantaneously healed of all desire to smoke.
