THE VAST FOREVER

Someone with faltering voice and tear
Whispers, "He is dead and gone from here."
Yet man is still the same;
He lives, and death is but a name.

Though friends may sever tie and bond
And seem to pass to realms beyond,
It is not true; man does not change,
For none can dwell beyond God's range.

Thought must arise above this dream;
Life is triumphant, Mind supreme.
We face no scourge, no threatening deep;
There is no death, no last long sleep.

Man is not old, nor yet a youth;
He is ageless as eternal Truth.
Free from sickness, death, and strife,
Man lives in God, and God is Life.
