I have had so many blessings as...
I have had so many blessings as a direct result of Christian Science Study and application that I desire to share some of my experiences with others.
I should like to cite one instance of healing which came to me a number of years ago. I was driving to a distant city, and was accompanied by a woman who was also a Christian Scientist. It was raining and the wind was blowing hard as we drove into a small town. The locality was not familiar to me, and I failed to see a stop sign which was so placed that it was not noticeable to strangers. We collided with another car, and as we did so my thought turned instantly to God before I lost consciousness. When I regained consciousness I saw that my car was badly damaged and turned in the opposite direction from that in which we had been going. My companion's legs were apparently injured, although she said that she had been knowing the truth for me because it looked as though I had passed on. When a tow car came, I managed to get out of our car and stand upon my feet. My friend stayed in the car and rode to the garage. As I walked I declared with all my understanding that no accident could happen to God's children under His government. My friend got out of the car at the garage unaided, and walked.
I had received no cuts from broken glass, but felt that some bones in my body were broken. Immediately I telephoned to a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. An officer offered to clean and bandage my friend's wounds, and that same afternoon we were able to take a bus back home. I rejoice to say that we did not lose an hour from our duties.
It would take me days to tell all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. Some healings have come about through my own understanding, and others with the help of practitioners. In all humility, I offer thanksgiving to God for Christ Jesus, our beloved Way-shower, and for Mary Baker Eddy, whose divine wisdom, unselfed love, and inspiration enabled her to bring to us the Comforter which the Master promised. My gratitude goes out daily for all our periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor, and for the wonderful Lesson-Sermons, which day by day feed us with "the true bread from heaven," and meet our every need.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and I daily thank God for the blessed privilege of class instruction. For the loving aid of practitioners, who are always so ready to help when we call upon them, I am also grateful. —(Mrs.) Esther C. Murphy, Bellingham, Washington.
