"My presence shall go with thee"

Help me, O God, to learn Thy way;
To find Thee as I go each day
About my round of routine task.
No greater blessing could I ask,
Than certainty, whate'er betide,

Of Thy calm presence at my side.

It glorifies each humble thing,
And wakes my thought to soar and sing;
It makes each hour a time of prayer;
To know this truth—no matter where
My path may lead, my God is there.
And so shall all my earthly days
Be sweet with joy, and rich with praise.
