In a recent issue, a correspondent writing on the subject of lotteries stated, "There is not a single church or charity institution in the country that today does not draw its funds from a certain amount of gambling," and instanced raffles, American auctions, and other forms of "gambling" resorted to at bazaars, and so on.
Recently a paper, which was supplied by the Manager of Christian Science Committees on Publication in Boston, on the history and organization of the Christian Science movement, was read, by request, by an Assistant Committee to a Sunday school class of girls of a Congregational church.
The necessary details incident to the giving of a Christian Science lecture by a branch church are handled in many churches by a committee appointed for the purpose.
The printed Tenets of The Mother Church are in general use by branch churches and societies, either as a basis for their application forms for admission to membership or for binding into their by-law booklets.
Those children who are brought up in the Christian Science Sunday School, and who go on to membership in a branch church and The Mother Church, find themselves wonderfully benefited.
Because I was curious to know what Christian Scientists believe, I eagerly accepted a friend's offer to lend me the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
It is with deep and sincere gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me as a result of the study and application of Christian Science that I wish to relate the following experiences.
