Christian Warfare

"The Christian warrior, see him stand
In all the armor of his God;
The Spirit's sword is in his hand;
His feet are with the gospel shod."

In the hymn which contains this stanza are pictured the weapons, the method, and the reward of "the Christian warrior." Manifestly the hymn is based on the Apostle Paul's stirring exhortation to the Ephesians, in which he vehemently urges them, in their defense against evil, to arm themselves with truth, peace, faith, and "the word of God."
