Today

"And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long."—Psalms 35:28.

This day is God's.

Guard well thy thought, thy speech, thy action.
Remember who thou art—a son of God.
So, as a son, thou must reflect His nature,
All His thoughts, His actions. Every single hour
Thou livest thou must glorify His spirit,
And declare Him. Show in every movement
How fine thy lineage! Face all events
With the same courage Jesus showed the world.
Lift thy face toward the heavens. See in all nature
Everywhere the evidence of thy creator.
Carry in the soul the memory of thy brother
Sent before thee, who stilled the tempest wild,
Rebuked the devils, cleansed lepers, healed the sick.
So shall thy living be an inspiration
To that other one of whom thou knowest nought.
For every life doth somewhere touch another,
And starts a golden chain that reaches endlessly.
So shall thy life reach out beyond thy vision
Of today, and touch the borders of infinity.
