One evening as I was returning home I had a bad fall...
One evening as I was returning home I had a bad fall on the sidewalk, which had a thin coating of ice. The shock was very severe, and I suffered a good deal from pain in my left arm. I tried to realize the truth, but as I did not succeed in allaying my suffering, I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help.
The next morning the pain was eased somewhat, but at the end of two weeks the condition seemed to be worse. The people around me were not Scientists, and since they were full of fear for me, I decided to go to see a surgeon, but I held to the thought that God was all-powerful. The surgeon took an X ray, and stated that there had been three breaks in the wrist, but that the bones had already knit, although not properly. He told me that I should go to a clinic, and that it would be necessary to give me ether in order to break the wrist and put the hand in place again, otherwise I could never have the use of my hand and should always suffer from it. I did not accept this verdict, but I redoubled my trust in God, knowing that He alone can do all. The practitioner continued her treatments, and one day while I was doing some housework I suddenly heard a sharp sound in my wrist, but did not feel any pain. The next day I told this to the practitioner, and saw that the wrist and hand were in place. Since then the pain has disappeared completely, and I have been able to resume my sewing. I am so happy and grateful for this new proof of God's omnipotence.
I have also been completely healed of an obstinate case of constipation, of headaches, grippe, a sprain, and of great timidity.
