I am very grateful for Christian Science
I am very grateful for Christian Science. Before I found this Science my whole body was sick, and I was very unhappy. I had had two operations, and was to have had a third when I took up the study of Christian Science.
I knew from one week's study that this was the truth which Jesus said would make us free. Friends tried to influence me to drop Christian Science, saying it was of the devil, but nothing could turn me from it. My first healings were of constipation, stomach trouble, headaches, asthma, hemorrhoids, and finally female trouble, which had been the cause of the surgical operations.
My little boy, when one year old, was taken with pneumonia, pleurisy, and measles. After we had doctored him for three days and he was at the point of death, he was healed in one day by Christian Science. My twin boys, at the age of eleven months, drank the water of poison flypaper. As I went for the remedy prescribed, I realized my error and turned to the truth. These words came to me (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 228): "Nothing inharmonious can enter being, for Life is God." The babies went to sleep, woke in about one hour, vomited, and then all was well. All that time I had been reading and knowing the truth, and never once did fear enter my thought. There were no bad aftereffects, and all this was done without the family knowing about it.
